HALCO Year in Review 2023

As 2023 draws to a close, we wanted to take a look back at our year. We've seen new faces join the HALCO team, innovated and supplied new hook and loop products, acquired not 1 but 2 businesses into our family, supported some great charities and did it all with a big smile on our faces. Here's a run through of some of this year's headlines from HALCO.

New additions to the team
We expanded our team throughout the year, strengthening our knowledge and expertise throughout the business including sales, quality control, marketing and more. We've said hello to many new staff members, who have all hit the ground running helping to provide our customers with the right products, at the right time.

Added even more hook & loop solutions to our offering
Throughout this year, we have delivered bespoke products to customers needing unique solutions. We pride ourselves on innovating and providing new products for our customers, using the latest manufacturing methods and modern machinery. Completed the acquisition of 2 businesses
HALCO Europe acquired 2 of the biggest ecommerce sites in workroom tools and embroidery consumables this year. In February we finalised our acquisition of Tacura, the leading home of workroom tools and accessories, including scissors, tagging guns, paper products and much more for workrooms. In April this year we added all the workroom products to our HALCO catalogue, furthering our offering to our customers and in November, Tacura.com was rebranded as HALCOshop.com.

The second half of the year saw ETC Supplies join the HALCO group of companies as a leading supplier of embroidery consumables such as threads, backings and frames. Stay tuned for more news and updates in 2024.

Grew our HALCO Forest by 1000 trees
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and a greener future, we pledged to plant 1000 trees this year. We achieved this in December, donating trees all over the world from Tanzania, Madagascar and Nepal.

From fruit giving lemon trees to reforesting evergreen trees, our donated trees will give back to the communities and countries in which they are planted, as well as capture over 120 tonnes of C02. In 2024 we will continue to look at more sustainable achievements and maintain our commitment to a greener future.

Donating thousands to charity
We've always supported charities and fundraisers here at HALCO, and 2023 was no different. From local charities to global ones, we've raised thousands this year for different appeals. We hosted many charity games and events at our head office, including an Easter Egg Hunt for Herefordshire Headway and a Sprout Throwing Contest for the Red Cross.

As well as the above named charities, we donated to other causes such as the European Lung foundation, Rapid Relief Team, Prostate Cancer UK and more. Charity is in our DNA and you can expect us to fundraise throughout 2024 and beyond too.
